Terms of Service
Last updated: June 10, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Sona, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What Sona is — and isn't
Sona is a personal health record organiser. It helps you store, review, and share your own health data. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any health decision.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account — holding an account requires legal capacity to consent to health data processing and to enter a subscription contract. A child's health may be tracked by their parent or legal guardian via a managed family profile.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information during registration.
- One person may not operate multiple accounts to circumvent limits or restrictions.
4. Your data
You own all health data you enter into Sona. We do not claim any ownership over it. You may export or delete your data at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details on how it is stored and processed.
5. Subscription and payment
Sona offers a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No payment is required during the trial. After the trial period, continued access to AI features (document scanning, AI assistant, weekly digest, specialist briefs, marker insights) requires a paid subscription.
Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, who acts as merchant of record and handles all billing, invoicing, and payment disputes. You authorise the payment processor to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Manual logging features (vitals, medications, appointments, vaccinations) remain available free of charge after cancellation. For refunds, see our Refund Policy.
6. Family profiles
You may create managed profiles for family members (children, dependants) under your account. By doing so, you confirm you have the legal authority to store their health data and accept these Terms on their behalf. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of data you enter for others.
7. Sharing features
Sona allows you to generate shareable links for specialist visits or medical cards. When you create a link, the data included is accessible to anyone with that link. You are responsible for who you share links with and for revoking access when appropriate. Sona is not liable for data accessed through links you share.
8. AI features
Sona uses third-party AI models (via OpenRouter) to analyse documents, generate health summaries, and power the health assistant. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Do not rely solely on AI-generated content for medical decisions. Always verify with a qualified healthcare professional.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Sona for any unlawful purpose.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service.
- Use automated tools to access the service at a rate that impairs its availability.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others.
10. Service availability
Sona is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make reasonable efforts to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sona is provided without warranties of any kind — express, implied, or statutory — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. You use Sona at your own risk.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sona and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including any reliance on AI-generated health information.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time via Profile → Delete account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia (country). Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Tbilisi, Georgia, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use of Sona after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
